6. The JW’s believe only through their guidance the Bible can be correctly interpreted.Channel to understanding the Bible... All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the "greatly diversified wisdom of God" can become known only through Jehovah’s's channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave. The Watchtower; 10/1/1994; p. 8."We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the ‘faithful and discreet slave' organization." The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981. The many “corrected” prophecies originated by JW’s were supposedly given to them by Gods Holy Spirit. Was is still from the Holy Spirit after it didn’t come true?NWT Deut. 18:20-22, "‘However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: "How shall we know the word that Jehovah’s has not spoken?" when the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah’s and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah’s did not speak..." JW’s believe they are Gods modern day "PROPHET" -- "So does Jehovah’s have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?...This "prophet" was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s's Christian Witnesses...Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a ‘prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it." The Watchtower, 4/1/72 (See Deut. 18:21, Matt. 24:24) False Prophecies:"Jehovah’s, the God of the true prophets, will put all false prophets to shame either by not fulfilling the false prediction of such self assuming prophets or by having His own prophecies fulfilled in a way opposite to that predicted by the false prophets. False prophets will try to hide their reason for feeling shame by denying who they really are" Paradise Restored To Mankind By Theocracy, 1972, pp 353-354 Notice not in 1914: 1879 "Christ came in the character of a Bridegroom in 1874.... at the beginning of the Gospel harvest." (Watchtower, Oct 1879, p. 4) Armageddon is in 1914: 1908 "In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished at the end of A. D. 1914." The Time Is At Hand; 1889; 1908 ed.; p. 99 1908 "True, it is expecting great things to claim, as we do, that within the coming twenty-six years all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved" The Time Is At Hand; 1889; 1908 ed.; p. 99 1931 "There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah’s's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates." Vindication, page 338. True, there have been those in times past who predicted an "end to the world," even announcing a specific date. Some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end. Yet, nothing happened. The end did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing? Missing was the full measure of evidence required in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Missing from such people were God's truths and the evidence that he was guiding and using them." Awake, October 8, 1968, p. 23 "We should, therefore expect shortly after 1925 to see the awakening of Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Melchisedec, Job, Moses, Samuel, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, John the Baptist, and others mentioned in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews." The Way To Paradise, 1924, p. 224 On December 24, 1929 the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society purchased a piece of property to be used as a home for David, Gideon, Barak, Samson and Joseph and the "faithful men who were named with approval in the Bible at Hebrews the eleventh chapter." Deed to property as found in "Golden Age", March 19, 1930, p. 400 "...any persons appearing to take possession of said premises shall first prove and identify themselves to the proper officers of said Society as the persons described in Hebrews chapter eleven and in this deed." Golden Age, March 19, 1930, p. 407 "... the scriptural and physical facts prove that Job is due to be resurrected shortly with those faithful men Hebrews chapter 11) and to appear on earth with them. These appointed 'princes' of God will take over what the Nazi-fascists totalitarian dictators desperately try to grab on earth." The New World, 1942, p. 130 Next page home |
